Making perfect copies of your DVD movies has become much much easier than, say, two years ago. The technology has evolved into a near perfect science (and art). The software you will find online know is so well developed that you don’t have to be a “techie” to copy or backup your DVD movie collection. Getting the most out out DVD copying technology requires just a small bit of information on how DVD copy software works.
The best DVD copying software now-a-days performs three transparent processes for you: (1) Ripping, (2) Transcoding, and (3) Burning.
Ripping is the process of extracting the DVD movie’s raw data and placing it on your hard drive. In this state, you may view the raw data (the ripped DVD) using certain software applications such as the Windows Media Player Classic (not Windows Media Player) or PowerDVD, for example.
Next, top DVD copy programs will automatically transition into the transcoding phase. Transcoding is the process of taking that ripped DVD data and transforming it into a format so that it can be written or etched onto a blank DVD. You just cut-n-paste raw DVD data onto a blank DVD; it doesn’t work that way.
The final step a good DVD copying program will perform is the process of burning. After the transcoding phase is complete, you are usually told to remove the original DVD movie from your PC and insert a blank DVD. The DVD copying program will commence with burning that transcoded data onto your blank DVD. The result is a copy of the original.
A good DVD copying program should be able to copy a 2 hour DVD movie in less than 30 minutes.
Choose a DVD copying application that let’s you have some control over what you want on the copied DVD. For example, you want the options to include or exclude subtitles, languages, directors commentaries, extras, and menus; and are able to copy episodic DVDs. Also, you want options that will let you do 1:1 bit by bit copies of the original DVD without compression. In non-technical terms, this simply means that you want the copied DVD movie to have the same quality as the original DVD.
Usually, copies of DVD movies are done with compression (not 1:1 bit by bit). In other words, the original DVD movie in it’s current state, is too large to fit on a blank DVD. So the DVD copying sofware will compress it down (shrink it) so that it will fit on a single blank DVD giving you “near DVD quality.” Near DVD quality looks and sounds great.
If you elect for a bit by bit no-compression copy of the original DVD movie, you will need two blank DVDs. That is, your original DVD will be placed on two blank DVDs; both DVDs will be exact replicas of the original DVD movie.
Not all DVD copying software is able to copy all DVDs. With new the encrtyption schemes now on newer DVDs, you want an application that can easily get around this.
Pricing is a primary concern for many. The old adage still applies: “You get what you pay for.” If you come across a DVD copying software whose pricing seems too good to be true, be careful. While the application may copy a DVD, what happens when something goes wrong? Will you have ready access to support when you need it?
Many of the software applications claim to be the best. It depends on you, how to choose the best one among them? For example, DVD copy software that is simple and straightforward, besides being non-complicated, is an ideal one? The interface of the DVD copy software should be convenient to deal with.
Well, you should seriously consider LG Software Innovations 1Click DVD Copy Pro. LG Software Innovations leads the way in DVD copy technology. You will not find better support anywhere. To be frank: Their software works.

My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on several websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
